Description

Minecraft Party for Adult/Student Teams: Sunday, January 22, 2017, 3-5 pm

Hosted by: Phil Landfried
Location: Mountain View Computer Room
Have your favorite Mountain View Student show you the world of Minecraft. Mr Landfried will guide the teams through exciting adventures!
- Tutorial World: Students lead novice parents through the world, learning skills such as navigation, jumping, swimming, climbing, flying.
- World of Humanities Scavenger Hunt: Look for information about ancient civilizations and clues.
- Mission: Explore El Camino Real (21 California Mission) built by last year’s 4th graders. These missions were built to exact scale using blueprints and photos.
- Building: Build a structure alone or as a team- house, other building, village, cars, etc.
- Freeze Tag and a Maze Contest
Popcorn and juice and water will be provided as snacks.
Suggested donation is $10 per person.


Crazy GLOW Dance Party for K-4th Grade: Friday, January 27, 2017, 5:30-7:30 pm

Location: Mountain View Multipurpose Room
Back by Popular Demand: it’s a Crazy GLOW Dance Party featuring disco balls, glow sticks, fun dance music and a special appearance by the Mountain View Mascot —the Cougar — who will bust some moves! Pizza, drinks and desserts for all. Coffee bar for the adults! Great music, great times! Wear white and glow under the black lights. This is not a drop-off event. An adult needs to accompany kid(s). Event for K-4th. Siblings welcome. Don't delay, this event has sold out every year! Suggested donation: $25 per adult + child and $10 for additional family members (or $50 per family), but any amount is appreciated and all are welcome!


Kindergarten Families' Red and Rose Valentine Party: Thursday, February 2, 2017, 4-6 pm

Location: Home of Gigi Walker, 1040 Ocean Vista Lane
Red and rose Valentine making for the kindergartners, red and rosé wines for the parents. 6th graders will help your kindergartners make Valentines while parents get to know each other sipping wine. And you'll come away with a gorgeous professional Valentine's Day photo of your kiddos! Price is $40 per family.


Mom's Book Swap : Saturday, February 4, 2017, 6-8 pm

Come join Mountain View moms for wine and cheese and a fun discussion about our favorite books. Bring at least one book to swap as well as suggestions for other great reads. You will leave with at least one new book and we'll compile the recommendations into a reading list to get you through 2017. Ticket Price: $25 per person


Lunch w/ Principal Schoenwetter: Tuesday, February 7, 2017, noon

Location: Principals' Office
Principal Schoenwetter wants to have lunch with some of the awesome students of Mountain View. Join him for burgers and fries from In & Out Burger! Suggested Donation: $25 per student


National Geographic Live! & Special Pizza Party on Stage After the Show for Mountain View Party Book: Sunday, March 5, 2017, 3-6 pm

Beauty and the Bizarre: Hummingbirds, Bees, Bats and Zombie Parasites
Photographer Anand Varma captures the small wonders of the world through his lens, harnessing the beauty of iridescent hummingbird feathers, the science of honeybees and the hidden world of parasites. In the second half of the program, bats will take center stage when scientist Rodrigo Medellín, subject of the BBC documentary The Bat Man of Mexico, shares his enthusiasm for these extraordinary animals. Together, Varma and Medellín will change the way we see some of nature’s most beautiful and strange creations.
Mountain View party book guests are invited to a post-event pizza party on-stage!

Location: The Hangar, 201 W Montecito St
The Hangar is an exclusive, high-end car club in Downtown Santa Barbara! Come hang with the guys and play poker while enjoying the view of all the cars on display. Drinks and apps will be served 'til the last bet is placed! This place is an incredible location for a sweet poker game. Bring your card playing skills and your appreciation for high-end cars to this event! Note: half of the donation will be allocated to the till. This event is only open to guys over 21. No photos allowed inside the Hangar (strictly enforced). Ticket Price: $100 per person


4th Grade Movie Night: Friday, March 17, 2017, 6-9 pm

Hosted by: Mr. Light & Mrs. Pearson
Location: Mountain View Multipurpose Room
Hey 4th graders! Your teachers would like to hang with you for an evening of movie watching, games + snacks! Students may wear PJs or sweats(optional) and bring a blanket/sleeping bag so they are cozy on the MPR floor. What a super fun way to end the week! Suggested Donation: $20 per student
